Soccer is played by keeping the head up, not down, when dribbling and shooting.

Avoid "dribbling through the cones" extensively because this drill will encourage you to keep your head down instead of up.

HYSA's U-12 and U-14 tournament is scheduled for Saturday, September 24, 2005.

Welcome to our website. HYSA has a firm foundation in promoting the sport of soccer in area youths without regard for individual player's abilities. We are affiliated with the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association (WYSA), the United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA), and we play by a revised set of FIFA soccer rules.

Our mission and goal is to teach soccer skills in a safe, fun, and happy environment utilizing trained volunteers from all walks of life. The only requirement to play soccer under HYSA is an interest in the sport and enthusiasm to play as part of a team. Whether your youngster has played the game before or is just getting started, they are guaranteed to play at least half of every game.

Our coaches believe in and practice positive coaching principals where the thrust is to teach soccer skills and teamwork while instilling a sense of belonging in a caring and nurturing environment. We offer positive instruction and encouragement without any negative criticism of any of our players.

Registration is open to all children in grades K through 8 in Conover, Land O Lakes, Eagle River, Phelps, St. Germain, Sugar Camp, and Three Lakes in northern Wisconsin. Registration is held in the spring and summer months each year in each community. Once registration is complete some time in mid summer, the season gets started the first week of August and runs until approximately October 1.

What are you waiting for? Come join the fun and play soccer!
